All features

Everything Talk2Type can do.

Dictation is the start. Here is the full list, in the order you are likely to meet it.

Demo

Works in every window. Really, every window.

Talk2Type types exactly like a keyboard, so it works anywhere there is a cursor. Scroll down and the window on the PC changes.

01

WhatsApp Web

Reply to Mom from the PC without typing a word. Say “send”, and it's sent.

hold the bubble · talk · let go
02

Gmail

A whole email with commas and new lines, hands off the keyboard. “Comma” is a comma. “New line” is a new line.

03

Slack, with the team

Use two languages? Double-tap the bubble and it flips. Family in one, work in the other, same minute.

only the languages on your keyboard
04

An AI chat

A long, detailed prompt in ten seconds. When you don't have to type, you explain properly, and get a better answer.

05

From the couch

With the remote turned on, you say “Computer, volume 20”, “Computer, pause” or “Computer, lock”, and “Computer, peek” sends a screenshot to your phone.

off by default, turn it on in settings
Voice commands

The commands it understands.

Edit the text by voice. Want the word itself typed? Say “literally” before it.

One rule to remember: dictation commands and click-by-number are said as they are. Only remote-control commands start with the word “computer”, so the PC never locks itself mid-sentence. The remote is off by default; turn it on in settings, and shutdown or restart always ask for confirmation on the phone first.

Beyond dictation

Your phone is also the mouse.

Away from the desk? Four more tools on the phone stand in for the keyboard and mouse, without getting off the couch.

A

Click buttons by number

Say “numbers” (no “computer” first), or press Ctrl+Alt+N on the PC, and every button in the active window gets a number, dialogs like “Save changes?” included. Then say “three”, “click 3” or “click Send”, or tap the number in the list on your phone. “Hide numbers” clears them.

B

Your PC screen, in your hand

See your PC screen on your phone. Pinch to zoom, tap to click, hold for a right-click, and the typing bar sends text, Backspace and Enter.

C

Trackpad

One finger moves the pointer, tap to click, two fingers scroll, tap-and-hold drags. Just like a laptop.

D

Keyboard

Arrows, Backspace and Enter that act directly on the PC (hold a key to repeat it), plus a text field that uses your phone's own keyboard, mic button included.

The small things

A few more things that help every day.

01

Start recording from the keyboard

Phone in your pocket? Press Ctrl+Alt+D on the PC. The phone buzzes once and starts listening.

Ctrl+Alt+D
02

Even from the lock screen

Talk2Type's notification is there even when the phone is locked: one tap, talk, and the text shows up on the PC.

Talk2TypeConnected to your PC · tap to talk
03

Stops on its own when you stop talking

In hands-free mode, 30 seconds of silence and the mic closes by itself. Nothing stays open by accident.

04

Live typing or a preview first

Words are typed on the PC as you speak. Or, if you prefer, they wait in a small bubble until you confirm.

05

Only your languages

Talk2Type offers only the languages already set up on your phone's keyboard, not a list of 80. Double-tap the bubble to switch.

06

No server of ours in between

Text goes straight from phone to PC over your home network, encrypted, with no server of ours along the way. The speech itself is recognized by Google's engine on the phone, exactly like the keyboard does it. No account, no tracking.

Works without a PC too

Turn on “Type on this phone” and the same bubble types into any app on the phone, with the same commands and languages. Off by default.

08

The PC app is always free

A free Windows app with a standard installer, for Windows 10 and 11. Connect several phones to one PC, or several PCs to one phone.

09

Bubble, notification, or nothing on screen

Don't want a bubble on screen? Pick “Notification”, or drag the bubble onto the X and choose “Keep in notifications”. The notification mic and the PC hotkey keep working.

10

No shared Wi-Fi? Still works.

No common network, or a router that blocks devices? Talk2Type switches to Bluetooth on its own, and pairing takes one tap.

11

Slide to switch PC or language

Hold the bubble and slide sideways onto the PC you want, or down to change language. Desktop and laptop, from one phone.

No sentence gets lost

Windows plays its own mic sound when recording starts and stops (you can turn it off). And if the link drops mid-sentence, what you said waits on the phone's clipboard.

What we did not want

  • an ad between every sentence
  • a monthly plan just to type
  • “Your language: coming soon”
  • another server passing your text around
  • a mic that stalls mid-word

And what we built instead

  • No ads, ever
  • One payment, forever
  • 20+ languages from day one
  • Phone to PC directly, encrypted
  • A bubble that works with the screen locked

Start talking.

The first 24 hours are free, no credit card. Enough time to find out you don't want to go back to the keyboard.
